“Major Changes in North America via Mexico”
with Elena Mass

Much of the world has begun to recognize Mexico as a global model, with incredible public and private investment. This in turn has greatly benefited Mexico’s social infrastructure. Its ability to remain sovereign in its politics and protect its land is rather astounding, considering that Mexican armed forces are re-taking border land as industry encroaches. Mexico’s 70 officially supported Indigenous languages are now integrated in the revised constitution as are laws to prevent election interference and severe penalties against femicide or intent thereof. Elena will discuss some of this recent history as it enfolds and the benefits of traveling to this neighboring country.
• Elena Mass, Cambridge activist, civic and environmental leader has been traveling back and forth to Mexico since 2023, writing about her social, political and personal experiences with Mexicanas and Mexicanos and gives another view of North America that has been omitted from our mainstream news. Elena is a member of Community Church and served as board president in 1990 and on the board for some years as recently as 2016-2018.
