She was deeply connected to her spiritual community and choir at Old Cambridge Baptist Church. Still, she would come and lead us in song at CCB about once a year. In March she was killed while riding her bike in Cambridge. I am still reeling from the news, trying to make sense of such a senseless tragedy. Marcia was a deeply optimistic, indefatigably cheerful soul, especially enamored with the absurd, comical and satirical. She was thrilled and present, every time CCB hosted our best political satire: Roy Zimmerman and the Prince Myshkins were her favorites. I think we should book one of those performers back, for a concert in her honor and memory. Meanwhile, there will be a celebration of the life of Marcia Diehl on Sat.
