CCB Program Committee Meeting<\/strong> on Sunday, November 2nd, 1pm at Community Church (following the Sunday service). The Program Committee meets monthly to discuss topics for the church\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Sunday services. Considering input\/suggestions from the congregation at large, the committee identifies and prioritizes potential speakers.<\/p>\n

Sacco and Vanzetti: The Italian Years, A Piano Recital<\/strong><\/a> with Pianist\/Composer Mary Melnick at Community Church on Saturday, November 1st, 5:30pm at Community Church of Boston. Mary will perform an original composition inspired by Italian anarchists Sacco and Vanzetti.<\/p>\n

Speaking Peace: An Introduction to Nonviolent Communication<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong>on Monday, November 3rd at 6pm at Third Sector New England, 89 South St., Suite 700. Nonviolent Communication (NVC) is a way of communicating that strengthens our ability to stay in touch with our humanity and get our needs met, even under difficult circumstances. Instead of habitual responses, our words become conscious responses based on a clear awareness of what we are observing, feeling, and wanting. Stop Staples! Protest<\/strong><\/a> on Wednesday, November 5th at 4:30pm at 1 Washington Mall in Boston. In its continuing attack on postal workers and on the public service, the U.S. Postal Service has cut a deal with Staples to provide postal services at Staples stores.\u00c2\u00a0 Postal jobs must be maintained as good, living wage jobs. It is time for all Postal Workers to stand up and demand that the USPS stop its plan to privatize our Postal Service and its attack on unionized workers.<\/p>\n

First Friday Youth Open Mic Featuring Saul Williams<\/strong><\/a> on Friday, November 7th at the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain at 7pm, 633 Centre St. Saul Williams is considered the greatest slam poet of his generation. He is known for his blend of poetry and alternative hip hop, and for his lead role in the 1998 film Slam. Free for those under 25 years old, suggested donation of $10 for 25+.<\/p>\n

The Immigration Crisis: Has U.S. Foreign Policy Created It? What Can We Do about It?<\/strong><\/a> on Tuesday, November 11th at 7pm at 9 Hamilton Place. A forum featuring Professor Aviva Chomsky and Gabriel Camacho. Co-sponsored by United for Justice with Peace and Massachusetts Trust Act Coalition.<\/p>\n

Break the Chains 2: All-gender Dance Party and Revolutionary Concert<\/a><\/strong> on Thursday, November 13th at 6pm at MakeShift Boston, 549 Columbus Ave. Break the Chains is a semi-monthly all ages, all gender, all genre liberation dance party headlined by nationally touring queer and trans performers. Wheelchair accessible.<\/p>\n

Queer and Animal Rights Bookswap Benefit<\/strong><\/a> on Saturday, November 15th at 1pm at MakeShift Boston, 549 Columbus Ave. Swap your queer theory, general LGBTQIA-focused, vegan or animal rights related books\/zines\/dvds\/magazines. Bring up to ten items or just bring yourself and mingle. A raffle and bake sale will benefit Ida Hammer, a trans activist who is struggling with medically-necessary healthcare expenses.<\/p>\n
