We have a new beautiful piano. New to us, that is. It lived in a warehouse for twenty years, where it had been abandoned by\u00c2\u2026 who knows who. Our long time piano technician, Toby Stein, found it at an auction, and now it is ours. It is in extraordinary condition. We have been without a piano since 2011, when a water pipe rupture took out our piano, our auditorium, and the restaurant beneath it. We are so glad to be back with an even finer instrument than we had before.<\/p>\n
To celebrate, we have several upcoming Sundays featuring some of our favorite pianists: Josh Rosen, Ruthanna Welch, Melsen Carlsen and Jacqueline Schwab. We also have, on Sat. November 1,at 5:30 PM, a recital by\u00c2\u00a0Mary Melnick, pianist and composer from Vermont, whose piece \u00c2\u201c”Sacco and Vanzetti, The Italian Years\u00c2\u201d” intrigued us. We will hear it in its entirety. It is a benefit for the Sacco and Vanzetti Commemoration Society (www.saccoandvanzetti.org). We are very honored to co-sponsor this event.<\/p>\n
