The members of Community Church are yet at another crossroads. A good one, but a challenging one as well. We need and will soon begin the process of seeking new leadership for the church. What does this mean? Does it mean looking for a new minister? An interim minister? Or a lay leader? Or something completely different?

But before we begin any search process, we need to ask ourselves a more basic question: What is it that we, the members, want for Community Church?

We know our grand purpose and we know our powerful history. We also know that we’re small in numbers, are an older congregation, have a wonderful building, yet like every church have limited resources. So the question is: In 2014 and in the years ahead, what do we want to do to make sure that the church and our purpose continue to thrive? And how might we do this? Those are the questions we want to hear you on.

So on Sunday, September 21 at 12:30pm, we strongly encourage you to join the conversation to begin to answer these important questions. Let’s proactively shape the church’s direction and then search for the leader who can help put our ideas into action. We’re looking forward to a robust and fruitful conversation, and hope you’ll join in and let your voice be heard!

“Capitalist Democracy and its Prospects: A Lecture by Noam Chomsky” on Tuesday, September 30th, 6pm at the 1199 SEIU (150 Mt.
